Recently the actor was busy shooting when a cat made its way on the sets. The mere presence of this billi was enough to get Vidya all worked up. The girl, apparently, is terrified of cats and drives the whole unit crazy when she spots this feline creature roaming about. Vidya Balan rushes to her van and refuses to come out till the animal is shoo-ed away.

And before animal activists are all up in arms, let us clarify that Vidya Balan never allows anyone to be cruel or even hurl stones at them. "Just shoo it away," she tells her fellow-unitwalas who are quite amused by Vidya's feline fear! Is that the reason Vidya Balan keeps away from B-wood's infamous cat-fights? After all, some of her contemporaries can be quite catty you know!

Vidya Balan likes to be a linguist someday

Vidya Balan is suddenly obsessed with the idea of learning Indian and foreign languages, and has decided that she’d like to be a linguist someday.

For starters, the learning begins at home (read: Maharashtra’s state language, Marathi). Vidya is currently trying to learn how to speak fluent Marathi; so she’s begun conversing with her staff in the language. But it doesn’t end there. She’s also tuning her tastebuds to Maharashtrian delicacies; so now her team brings her authentic jowar bhakri, jhunka bhakar, mirchi cha thecha, puran pori, et al.

Wow. That’s our true blue Mumbaikar Vidya, but dear girl, what’s the raaz here? Is there a Maharashtrian manoos on the scene that we should know about, huh Vids? Saang na, saang na Vidya!

The film stars Vidya opposite Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah. Vidya's role in the film has a few grey shades and she is supposed to fool the uncle-nephew duo of Naseer and Arshad in it.

Vidya to shoot for Ishqiya

Besides being directed by Bhardwaj, Vidya Balan is excited about sharing screen space with Naseeruddin Shah. “It’s going to be so much fun. And a great learning experience too,” she tells us. “We’ve attended workshops for our roles in the film conducted by Naseeruddin Shah himself. They were so good...,” Vidya adds. Well, let’s see how the connection works this time round, and what kismet this film has been blessed with!

Hope they will bring out another hit.

One is a Rajat Kapoor’s romantic comedy called Love Rectangular, where I am working with Ranvir Shorey and Purab Kohli. Shahid shoots Vidya Balan

Shahid Kapur has found a new companion – his camera. And so taken is he by his role as a photographer that he spends most of his spare time clicking pictures, especially during his outdoor schedules.

A source says, “Shahid makes the most of his hobby (photography) after he is done with shooting, during his outdoor schedules. Recently, Shahid was in Toronto for almost over three months for the shooting of Aziz Mirza’s Kismat Konnection. After work, he would take his camera and click pictures.”

However, Shahid is not known to have any favourite subjects; he captures anything that catches his fancy. “Be it a beautiful location, people and or just about anything else. Shahid has also captured varied moods of his associates and co-stars. He has already got a huge collection of pictures that he has personally shot,” adds the source.

And it’s not just clicking pictures; Shahid also personally edits the photographs on the computer. He has even made a slideshow on his laptop, and whenever he gets the time, updates his personal album.

Right now, what has caught his fancy is co-star Vidya Balan. When we contacted Vidya Balan to know more about Shahid’s passion, she said, “Shahid has often used the film photographer’s camera to shoot almost everyone on the sets. We were forced to become his subjects. He has an eye for detail, which is very important in photography. I would rate him an eight on ten,” she said.

It has been reported in the Indian media that popular Bollywood actress Vidya Balan made a mockery of herself at a party in London recently.

The actress is rumoured to have got drunk and then insulted fellow party goers. One has to keep in mind that Vidya is not usually like this and, because of the excessive drinking, could have lost her senses.

Vidya will soon be seen on-screen opposite hot actor Shahid Kapur in Kismet Konnection.

Enough about Vidya’s clothes. Let’s give it to the actor for her talent and spirit. Only recently, we spotted her at a studio where a song for a film titled Ishqiya was being recorded.

Vishal Bhardwaj has composed the music for this one, and the song being recorded was being rendered by Rekha Bhardwaj. Rekha did such a lovely job of it, that Vidya was floored.

The actor immediately said that she was thrilled and is so looking forward to filming it. So, while Vidya Balan dances to these tunes, let’s hope the masses feel ishqiya for Vidya all over again
